Independent living can allow you to have more choice and control in your life. Often, people with a disability need support to live independently. This support can be received in their own home or along with a group of people in a shared accommodation. At Queenscare, we offer various options under Supported Independent Living, depending on the participants needs and goals.
Types of Supported Independent Living
Independent living
We assist you to live independently in your own home by helping you maintain your independent living skills while supporting your learning of new skills
Shared living
In the shared supported independent living option, we can help you move into a home where you can live with other like-minded people, while receiving tailored support to develop your independent living skills.
In-home respite
In this option, we can support you in staying on in your home with staff who can be available to you for the tasks and duration that you require. Whatever supported independent living arrangement you choose, we will support you in developing new skills for living more independently, including:
Maintaining a household.
Household budgeting and money management.
Cooking, cleaning, and shopping.
Accessing public transport for social and medical appointments.
Building community connections and participating in social and recreational activities.
